2010 – A Year Gone Past. Now to 2011

Reflections on 2010

What will 2011 bring for you?

Well, another year has passed on by and our office has changed significantly since we started up in July 2008.

Megan Honey started with us in January in an administrative role and has proved to be invaluable to our day to day operations. Always friendly, ready to help and hard working sums her up.

Ken Pettit joined the team in March as a sales representative and like many is hoping 2011 sees a turn in the sales market.

We have steadily grown our property management portfolio and, under the guidance of Peter Munday as my mentor, we’ve started a strata management portfolio, which is growing rapidly. The level of service we provide is our strength and word of mouth has been the main source of new rental and strata managements.

In addition, we have been increasing our profile via Twitter (MJ_Aslander), which has a steady following, Facebook and this blog.

Earlier in the year I took on a new role as co-chairperson of the REIWA Property Management Network Committee. Public speaking was the challenge to overcome and is now for the most part conquered! The REIWA Property Management Convention in Busselton was hugely successful and it was a fantastic feeling to have been involved from the start. The sub-committee who worked on this event put their all into making the convention what it was and should be proud of the weekend – the feedback was fantastic. A special mention also needs to go out to Hilary Perdue and Carolyn Franklin of REIWA who ensured everything ran smoothly with no hiccups.

2010 was an extremely busy year, not only on the work front but on a personal level. Our eldest daughter Chaise is now 9 and our two little ones, Bennett (28 months) and Indigo (18 months) are no longer babies, but non-stop talking toddlers wreaking havoc everywhere they go.

So, what does 2011 hold in store? We will continue to provide a high level of service and aim to grow all facets of our business further. Keep growing, keep learning and keep evolving is my motto for the year ahead.

I hope a Merry Christmas was had by all and wish you a safe, happy and prosperous New Year.
